We live in a fast paced technologically advanced society, that allows us to connect with the swipe of a finger. We often lose sight of the fundamental thing that empowers us to grow, we forget to play. As time goes on we may think of play as an abstract far reaching concept that’s perceived to be only for children. It’s common to settle into the routine: work, TV, sleep, repeat because of the common misconceptions surrounding the value of play. Although there’s nothing wrong with that lifestyle, it may not provide the enriching experiences we deserve. Play is an excellent tool because play helps energize us, play allows us to meet new people, but best of all play is great for quality of life. Our minds need stimulation and through our podcasts, interviews, and blog posts we will be discovering different perspectives of recreation therapy, so you can stimulate your mind and incorporate it into your everyday routine. As we re-discover the benefits of play you will see that it’s not just something to do…it’s a lifestyle. So for now sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
